Hey CJ - Hey, finally, a new post! Looks great.

Hey Jack!

That looked like a meal that would even fill you up!

Do they have a brunch?

Captain Jack

Hey Kirk,
Thanks, I am glad you like the post. Delirio's is flying under the radar a bit, but their food is seriously good.

Hi Jim,
I was quite full after both visits. I wanted to cover a lot of menu items for the article. It's a tough job, but someone has to do it :)

I don't think they offer brunch, but I wish they would.

Man, I think I hear that scallop dish calling my name! We tried the short rib at a tasting event a few months ago and have been meaning to get into the restaurant ever since. It's quite a trip, but we'll have to go. Great review!

Captain Jack

Hey Alice Q,
Thank you, I am glad you liked it. "Alice Q...Alice Q... steer your ship closer to us, near the rocks" sang the scallops. I hope more people give Delirio's a chance. I realize it is a trek for many San Diegans (it only took me 5 minutes to get there along the coast from PB) but I really like what is coming out of the kitchen right now.

Hey Jack

Thanks for the nice review and the support...Small operations like ours really need it in San Diego. I am glad that you like Aaron's food and the restaurant. To answer the question above, we are currently not planning on serving brunch. We would love to in the future, but right now, it would not be financially sound...BTW we have a blue fin tuna carpaccio on the menu that is to die for right now :)

Captain Jack

Hey Jerome,
thanks for stopping by. Mmm, blue fin tuna carpaccio sounds wonderful!

Just checked out the XXsportsradio website and they are offering a $50 gift certificate for $25 for Delirios. Wasn't going to bother until seeing this post, looks like a great meal(s).

Captain Jack

Hi James,
Wow, what a great deal, half off! Thank you for pointing this out.

Hey Cap'n Jack!

You've really been on a roll with these lush tasting menus. You're a bad man, making me want to spend money I don't have. =)

Captain Jack

Hey CP,
You know the saying, "I owe, I owe, so of to work I go."

I am sorry to announce that Delirio's has closed its doors. For those of you that have dined with us, thanks for the support...and we hope to cook for you again in the near future.

Captain Jack

Dear Readers,
I am deeply saddened to hear about the untimely demise of Delirio's. My opinion is that this could have been avoided if the local community had shown more support for this outstanding dining establishment. For those of you who missed the opportunity to enjoy Aaron LaMonica's cuisine, and Jerome Astolfi's wine pairings, fear not, talents such as theirs are bound to reappear, hopefully in a local venue.
